My name is Chiara Young Snowdancer, and I am an artist who finds inspiration in moments of healing and self-expression. Living with allergies and the chronic illness of Sarcoidosis, art has become my sanctuary, allowing me to detach from daily challenges and revel in the joy of creation.
When it comes to choosing the medium for my art, I am drawn to the versatility and whimsical outcomes of oil sticks. This medium dries faster than traditional oil paint, giving me the freedom to experiment and correct until I achieve the perfect line or shading in my pieces.
Each of my artworks holds a personal story or message close to my heart. Growing up as a devoted Prince fan, his music and persona have been a constant inspiration in my life. The tragic loss of Prince due to a Fentanyl overdose deeply impacted me, and my art often pays tribute to his memory and the emotions his music evokes within me.
My creative process is rooted in deep admiration for the great masters of the art world. I meticulously study images of Prince, absorbing his essence and incorporating elements of his spirit into my work. My process is intuitive and fluid, allowing me to capture the essence of my subject while infusing each piece with my unique perspective and emotions.
Through years of artistic exploration and dedication, I have developed a style that merges my personal experiences with my reverence for art history. My journey as an artist continues to evolve, guided by a passion for self-expression and a deep connection to the healing power of creativity.
